Winemaker Notes
-
From the oldest vineyards on the Estate, the Banghoek is a raconteur weaving the tale of the property’s humble beginnings. Expressions of the site’s splendour, with its rich earthiness and bountiful fruit, are interwoven as flavours of warm spice are enriched with dark plum. The Banghoek, maiden release 2016 consisting of 53% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec, matured in 80% new French oak for 16 months, its serene beauty is personified by silky tannins yielding a luxurious elegance.

TASTING NOTES
-
The nose is characterised by subtle spicy oak, traces of cedar wood and delicate aromas of rich violets. Red fruit flavours on the palate make for a savoury, firm finish. The wine has fine, integrated tannins with persistent length.
