From the renowned Fontodi estate, the Flaccianello della Pieve 2019 is a bright ruby-red Sangiovese known for its refined complexity. The nose is very appealing, offering notes of blackberry, cherry, oak and subtle cranberry, with a notable savoriness. The palate is creamy, juicy and polished, with a tangy acidity and firm tannins. Rich flavours of black cherry, blackberry, oak spice, mocha and tobacco. It finishes long and punchy with earthy undertones.

The 2019 vintage recalls the balance of 2001 with the freshness of 2013, however, 2019 is more profound. Allow time for the wine to integrate the oak and for the tannins to soften. Drink: 2024-2050.
