Winemaker Notes – Il Poggione ‘Brunello di Montalcino’ Riserva Paganelli 2016

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is produced only in the best vintages and in limited quantity.

The wine comes exclusively from the “I Paganelli” vineyard, the oldest one in the estate, planted in 1964. Its vines, used as a clonal reference when planting new vineyards, produce high-quality grapes which are picked by the individual selection of the best and ripest bunches.

A wine with impressive freshness and depth. Aromas of black raspberry, liquorice, autumnal spice and worn leather appear as the wine unfolds. An unexpectedly soft and velvety-smooth texture with intense dark red fruits, such as black cherry and blackberry, that make an appearance just before a mix of brisk acids and tannins creates a more tactile expression toward the savoury finale.
