Distiller Notes

Niepoort is a historic, family-owned producer of port, spirits and wine in the Douro Valley, in northern Portugal. Since its founding in 1842, six generations have continued to shape Niepoort’s history to this day.

‘Aguardente Vínica Velha’ is a brandy made by distilling wines from Portuguese grape varieties and ageing them in Port Wine casks. Dark topaz-coloured, with shades of yellow. The aroma is very fine and vinous, with a well-balanced touch of old wood. After long ageing in oak barrels, the palate is concentrated and intense with a long, spirited finish.
