Winemaker Notes – Montepulciano D’Abruzzo DOC Riserva

Produced only in the best vintages, the Riserva is made with a selection of grapes from old vines (45 years old on average) from a single pergola-trained vineyard with monitored low production. 

The wine has an intense ruby-red colour with violet hues, turning garnet with time. There are balanced fruity and spicy notes, hints of blackberry, ripe red fruits, and dried flowers on the nose. On the palate, there is great texture and soft tannins, accompanied by an elegant long finish. It will pair perfectly with red meat, game, truffles, and aged cheeses, particularly gorgonzola.
