Distillery Notes – Gordon & MacPhail, Benromach Peat Smoke 2014

With the Peat Smoke Sherry Cask, Benromach adds another bottling to the Contrasts Series. Contrary to the standard bottlings with a low peat level of under 10 ppm, Benromach chose strongly peated malt for this bottling. The limited-edition fully matured in first-fill Sherry casks. The nose offers fragrant vanilla notes, which lead to lemon and apricot. Smooth flavours of butterscotch, marshmallow, and rich sherry. Finishing with smoky bonfire embers.
