Winemaker Notes – Il Poggione ‘Brunello di Montalcino’ 2017

Brunello is the prince of Montalcino wines, produced exclusively from Sangiovese grapes picked by hand from the vineyard’s oldest vines.

Opening with a saturated and shiny dark ruby colour. Aromas of black & purple fruits, such as blackberry preserves and plums, followed by robust tones of spice, tar and campfire ash. A punchy acidity and grippy tannins create a burst of cheek-puckering tension, as the flavours linger on the palate through the structured, medium-length finale.
